Petworth Town Council’s Petition to overturn the Chichester District Council Cabinet Decision refusing our Town skatepark application – Please sign this petition now and challenge this unwelcome decision.
To the Leader of Chichester District Council
We are deeply concerned about the Chichester District Council Cabinet Decision, dated 9th February 2016, that refused the proposed Petworth Town Council plan for a skatepark on the available land in the Sylvia Beaufoy car park.
We the undersigned recognise the need for and the benefits of a free public skatepark in Petworth and support the Petworth Town Council proposal to provide such a facility for the children and youth of the area.
We respectfully request the skatepark Decision be reviewed once again by Council Cabinet to ensure a comprehensive and transparent review of all of the information supplied by Petworth Town Council in support of the skatepark proposal is undertaken.
Please ask your family and friends to sign this important petition.
Note: Signatures on this Petition are welcome from people beyond Petworth and the surrounding villages.

Petworth’s Response to the Cockermouth Flood
Petworth has a strong connection with Cockermouth through the Egremont family (Cockermouth Castle) and Leconfield Estates’ land and properties based around Cockermouth. They have encountered a 3rd major flood over a 10 year period. Local residents and businesses once again face a huge clean-up and a desperate effort to return their lives to some semblance of normality.
Our thoughts are with the people of Cockermouth and it is suggested that our town expresses our solidarity and support.
We are in conversation with the Deputy Mayor and Town Clerk, Cockermouth Civic Fund, Cockermouth Churches Together and Cockermouth Chamber of Trade as to the best way to support the people of Cockermouth.
You can support the Petworth appeal for Cockermouth
- By making cheques payable to P&DCA (with “Cockermouth” clearly mark on the reverse side) and send to Petworth Appeal for Cockermouth, Petworth Town Council Office, The Old Bakery, Petworth GU28 0AP, or
- By making a BACS payment direct to the P&DCA account… Sort Code: 40 36 18 Account No: 31094238 “Your Ref”… Cockermouth
