Petworth Town Council Christmas Event 2016
Petworth Town Council are delighted to announce that their Christmas Event will be taking place on Saturday December 3rd 2016 from 12 noon until 8pm. This popular annual event has something for all the family including:
- An amazing array of window displays (some live!)
- Local singers in the Square
- Late night Christmas shopping
- Delicious local food and drink
- Fun activities and stalls
- A 5pm lantern procession and live nativity
- Santa’s Grotto and children’s activities from 2pm
- 6.30pm Christmas tree lights switch on with carols and music
We are still accepting applications for stall holders for this event, which is very well attended every year. If you are interested in having a stall please contact the office on 01798 344883 or email email@example.com.
NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN PUBLIC CONSULTATION
Thank you to over 400 residents who attended our public consultation day at the Leconfield Hall on Friday 17th June and to all of you who completed a questionnaire to give us the vital feedback we need to take the Neighbourhood Plan forward to the next stage.

Petworth lies in the South Downs National Park in rural West Sussex. The Town Council serves the closely built ancient township close to the National Trust’s property Petworth House, the modern town, and an extensive surrounding rural area.
The total population in Petworth Town Council area is just over 3000 people (The 2011 census recorded 3027).
Petworth people enjoy a very active community with several churches, a public library, several public meeting places, a youth club, and a lunch club for the elderly, and tennis, bowling, football and cricket clubs. There are regular films, a town band, amateur dramatics and the world class annual Petworth Festival which draws music lovers from far and near, and the Fete in the Park, both in the summer.
It is well known as a centre for the antiques trade, and is a thriving shopping and business community. Additionally there are regular farmers markets in the town centre, and monthly book sale supporting the Petworth Society. The Petworth Community Association is the hub for many of Petworth’s activities.
